May 10-17th We bought a week on eBay from Cancunfun2005. We stayed at Hard Rock, Riviera Maya and Dave was there all the way. I had a couple of questions and he answered them within 10 minutes. Dave is a Hall of Fame Member so you get all the perks. Getting off the airplane, Elite Travel was right there waiting for us with an air conditioned van, they shuttled us right to the hotel which was around 45 minutes away. When getting off the van, bellboys were right there to take the bags. Walked into the lobby and a lady was there to direct you to where you needed to go. While checking in we received a glass of champagne and a rose for the women. We told them we were there for our anniversary and they wrote it on our check in papers. That night coming back to our room, we had a huge bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of champagne waiting for us. We stayed on the South side which was the party side and our room was convenient to everything. The workers at the resort were wonderful, every time you passed one they said Hola or smiled. They went way beyond their beck and call. This resort is half adult-only and that was great having no kids running around screaming and yelling. I am already wanting to reserve a room with Dave for next year. We got back a week ago and my wife (Leah) can't stop thinking about being there [Hard Rock, Riviera Maya]. It was definitely one of the most amazing vacations we have ever been on. The service there was "The Best Service I have Ever Seen" !!! Everyone at the resort was eager to help you, they weren't faking it just looking for a tip, they genuinely wanted to help you and make your stay awesome. We did tip, but I didn't notice a big difference if we did or didn't tip, it was just overall the most outstanding service I have seen. The hostess at El Greco (one of the great restaurants there) knew that we were leaving for the day and came up and gave my wife a hug saying "see you next year". All the staff says "Hola" when they see you, we even had a gardener from about 40 feet away give us a big smile and wave, typically I don't get that where I'm from unless I know the person. Dave, as soon as we arrived one of the Bellboys came up started talking to us about you, asking if we were guests of yours, and telling us what a great guy you were and how he had enjoyed serving you. Our main activity was probably hanging out by the pool, sipping on frozen drinks, eating their delicious nachos (fully topped), and having fun with all the other couples and people that were there. However there was a ton of things to do volleyball, kayaking, ping pong, snorkeling, dancing, fun games with a crazy staff (south side), shows (Fire Show and Circus were the 2 best we saw) and lots of great eating. Everyone we met was their de-stressed self so it was definitely very easy to meet people and strike up fun conversation. We even met one couple who we will continue to be friends with afterwards. The resort was so much fun we had a hard time pulling ourselves away for two excursions...swimming with the dolphins and Mayan Pyramids. Both were amazing excursions. Some things to know: We didn't get sick. Never having been to Mexico before, we heard you may get sick. We met a couple who comes every year who did the Kitchen Tour, they said that Hard Rock, Riviera Maya has a 21 step cleanliness procedure to insure the food quality. The Wife's brother was in the U.S. Military, with his job being in charge of kitchen cleanliness. He had said he was impressed at the quality job they do and said you have nothing to worry about. We did pick up a prescription before hand from our doctor just in case but never had to use it. Order a Mayan Coffee at La Hacienda...It taste great and is a sight to see. Eat lots of ice cream. One of my favorites, and it's made at the Resorts!! Good Stuff!! Had a great time, hope to do business with you again. Hard Rock, Riviera Maya is an absolutely beautiful resort. Please be warned their is no real crashing wave beach at beach,(they do have a great lagoon that you can kayak, or snorkel and look at the tropical fish, and it's about an hour into Cancun if you were hoping to go there. The foods at each meal are just superior, with wants for nothing. If it was not there (which was hard to believe) the staff would find it and make it available. Each resort that is a Hard Rock Resort was made accessible thru either taxi or shuttle for your visitation. We visited a few and each had something different to offer. The spa, massages, pedicures, facials, wraps, etc. were just another experience that all should undertake. The people on vacation there were all friendly with ages from 18-80. We very much enjoyed all the amenities at the Hard Rock, Riviera Maya resort - snorkeling in the lagoon, tennis, pool volleyball, chess grande, the few nights of entertainment that we saw, the Cintas party we crashed (we found the churros provided there by a vendor to be better than what was offered in the restaurant), and of course all the delicioso food! We all agreed La Huerta was the best, for both food and service. The General Manager there made us feel so at home, and all the servers were very entertaining. The details of making things special stood out, for example all the elaborate flower decorations in the bathrooms, chocolates on the bed stand most every day, the towel configurations on the jet tub, etc. When I ordered something to go for Jack from La Huerta, someone drew a picture of a sea horse on the ocean floor with a 'be happy' message - so cute! Golf at Playacar was awesome! We saw lots of fun wildlife (scorpion!) so I don't feel too bad about not making it to Xpu Ha. We golfed three days, so we didn't make it to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres either. We definitely want to return, however Jack would like to stay closer to Cancun since we didn't make a trip up there either. Maybe we'll stay at one of the three Palace Resorts on that peninsula next time. Wherever we go, we're going through you again. We sat in on a presentation, although you recommended against it, so we could get the 2 rounds at Playacar free - we saved $500! As incentives to join, they offered us 3 free weeks of all-inclusives with free airfare once. We liked what we were seeing until we realized that you have to pay the extra [all inclusive] every time you want a week, in addition to the membership costs. Sorry about the long email. Everything was perfect: the food, staff, amenities, weather, entertainment, drinks, our room... you'll hear no complaints from us. We were actually able to switch packages with another couple we met at the airport upon our arrival. They were members of the resort and had golf included in their membership. Fortunately for us, they had no intention to play, and hotel reception was kind enough to give us their bracelets for free, unlimited golf -- just one of many accommodating gestures made by the resort staff that was the icing on an already glorious cake. Total satisfaction with our surroundings kept us at the resort for the majority of our stay; we only ventured out to play two rounds of golf. The rest of the time, we were perfectly content lounging at the pools, playing tennis, taking a dip in the lagoons, getting pampered in the spa, and enjoying delicious food and cocktails. We were treated like Royalty with our silver wrist bands. We did not even know that most other people did not have the same privileges as us until more than half way through the trip. We sat through the membership presentation the day before we left and understood what a great deal we had received. We got numerous free bees to boot! Our spa suite was great. The resort was immaculate. Service above and beyond our expectations. Entertainment was awesome. Very, very memorable for our 25Th anniversary. I'll be looking for a Presidential suite deal in the future. My wife and I will definitely go back again! It will be almost impossible to beat this resort in all categories for future vacations. The accommodations and service are exceptional, beginning with the transportation provided to and from the resorts by Chaza Travel, to the oversized ocean view rooms, the beautiful and relaxing pools and beach-front amenities, nightly entertainment/shows and the variety of restaurants/cuisines that will surely satisfy every guest. And it's all covered under one low "all-inclusive" rate. Traveling as a guest of a member, there are added benefits, including manicure, pedicure and massage for each guest. Additionally, many tours are included in the member package. We really enjoyed the Tulum / Xpu-ha tour and the Isla Mujeres island excursion. Additionally, when you stay at one resort, you have a "pass" to play at all resorts. The resorts offer free daily shuttle service between the properties so you can enjoy the variety of amenities and restaurants at all their locations. We found this particularly useful when we brought our kids last summer and they took advantage of the bus shuttle to the Cancun Palace Resort locations, which offer a little more city life, for those that want the added excitement. If you have any doubts about the resort, check out the Apple Vacations web site and you will see that it has Apple's highest ranking for "all-inclusive" vacation spots in Riviera Maya.
